12pm – 3pm: Pat Chase “Guitar Slim” Bday Party –

Pat “Guitar Slim” Chase is a blues guitarist and singer who adopted the stage name “Guitar Slim” in 1971 as a tribute to the original Guitar Slim, Eddie Jones, who passed away in 1959.

Chase’s musical journey began in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area blues scene, particularly around San Jose. During his four-year tenure in the U.S. Navy, he performed globally and, while stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Base, immersed himself in the Chicago blues circuit. There, he apprenticed with the legendary pianist Sunnyland Slim and connected with notable figures like Twist Turner.

After his military service, Chase toured extensively with Mark Hummel and the Blues Survivors, covering venues across the United States and internationally. He also collaborated with artists such as William Clarke, George “Harmonica” Smith, and Phillip Walker. In the late 1980s, seeking a change from the touring lifestyle and desiring to lead his own band, Chase relocated to Seattle, Washington. There, he became a prominent figure in the local blues community, performing at various venues and events.

Chase is renowned for his dynamic performances, characterized by his adept Chicago-style blues and skillful slide guitar techniques. His stage presence, often highlighted by sharp attire and engaging showmanship, has made him a memorable act in the blues circuit.

Throughout his career, Pat “Guitar Slim” Chase has honored the legacy of the original Guitar Slim while contributing his unique style and energy to the blues genre.

4pm – 7pm: Sharon Allen & The Dusty Boots “Swing Dance Party” – Sharon’s been playing folk, alt-country and blues on the local scene for many years.  Going back to her early days, having previously played with The Back Alley Band and The Firebirds from 1979-2002, she graced many a stage singing blues and working with the likes of B.B.
