12pm – 3pm: Sid Morris “Piano on the Patio” – Sid Morris is a seasoned blues pianist whose musical journey began in the 1960s when he played alongside South Bay blues pioneer Gary Smith. Mentored by Alberto Gianquinto of the original James Cotton Blues Band, Morris honed his skills in post-war barrelhouse blues, drawing influences from Chicago, New Orleans, and West Coast traditions. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with notable artists, including a stint with the Cornell Hurd Band, contributing his expert blues piano to their sound. Morris has also been featured on recordings such as Red’s Blues’ album “Broke Down In The Fast Lane,” where his piano work complements the band’s soulful tracks. His dedication to traditional blues and boogie-woogie styles has made him a respected figure in the San Francisco Bay Area music community and beyond.

4pm – 7pm: Andre Thierry “Zydeco Dance Party” – Andre Thierry, born on July 9, 1979, in Richmond, California, is a renowned American Zydeco musician deeply rooted in his French Creole heritage. From a young age, he was immersed in the musical traditions of his Louisiana-born grandparents, who hosted French Creole dances at their local church. Captivated by the accordion, Thierry taught himself to play by listening to Zydeco legends like Clifton Chenier. By age twelve, he had formed his own band, “Zydeco Magic,” and began performing with notable musicians, including the late John Delafose. Over the years, Thierry has developed a unique style he calls “Accordion Soul,” blending traditional Zydeco with elements of blues, R&B, and funk. His exceptional talent has earned him widespread acclaim, with The Washington Post describing him as “a master at pumping out fast, funky rhythms on an instrument not usually associated with earthy syncopation.” Today, Thierry continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his energetic performances and innovative approach to Zydeco music.

This event includes a one hour break between 3pm and 4pm.
